Our AML and Verification Policy

This page sets out, in plain language, how Spinado Casino meets its anti-money laundering (AML) obligations and verifies the identity of every player who holds an account with us. We hold a Curaçao licence and apply its AML framework to every account on our platform.

Our Commitment to AML Rules

We operate under a licence issued by the authorities of Curaçao, and that licence binds us to strict anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist-financing rules. For us this is not a paper exercise. Every payment that enters or leaves our platform passes through controls designed to stop criminal funds from moving through Spinado Casino.

We apply a risk-based approach. Accounts that show low risk, such as small and steady deposits from a verified payment method in the player's own name, receive standard checks. Accounts with higher risk indicators receive enhanced scrutiny before any withdrawal leaves us. Our compliance team is trained to recognise structuring, third-party payments and unusual betting patterns that have no genuine gambling purpose behind them.

  • We verify the identity of our players before their first withdrawal leaves the platform.
  • We screen names against international sanctions lists at registration and on an ongoing basis.
  • We report suspicious activity to the competent authority in our licence jurisdiction, and we never tip off the account holder when a report is made.
  • We train our staff in AML obligations and review our internal procedures at least once a year.

When We Verify Your Account

Verification stages

Verification at Spinado Casino happens in stages rather than all at once. At registration we check your basic details, confirm your date of birth and screen your name against sanctions lists. Full document verification takes place before your first withdrawal, and further checks apply when certain thresholds are crossed or when something in your account activity asks for a second look.

CheckWhen it appliesWhat we need from you
Registration screeningImmediately after sign-upYour name, date of birth and address as entered on the form
Identity verificationBefore the first withdrawal, or earlier if triggeredA valid photo ID: passport, national identity card or driving licence
Address verificationTogether with identity verificationA utility bill, bank statement or council tax letter dated within the last three months
Payment method verificationBefore the first withdrawal to that methodA photo of the card with the middle digits covered, or a screenshot of your e-wallet or crypto wallet showing your name
Enhanced verificationAt higher thresholds or on risk triggersSource of funds evidence, described further down this page

Our Verification Step by Step

We have kept the process short. Most players complete verification in under ten minutes, and our compliance team reviews standard submissions within 24 hours. Where a document is unclear or a check needs an external response, for example a bank confirmation, the review can take up to three business days, and we tell you when that is the case.

Every document you upload travels through an encrypted connection and is stored on servers with access restricted to our compliance staff. We never ask you to send documents by email or live chat, and we never ask for your full card number, your passwords or your PIN.

  • Log in and open the verification section of your account page.
  • Select the check you have been asked to complete: identity, address or payment method.
  • Photograph or scan the document so that all four corners are visible and the text is readable.
  • Upload the file through the secure form. Acceptable formats are JPG, PNG and PDF up to 10 MB per file.
  • Wait for our review. You will see the status change to approved, or you will receive a message asking for a clearer copy or an alternative document.
  • Once every required check is approved, your withdrawal is released for processing.

When We Request Source of Funds

Source of funds means evidence that the money you play with comes from a legitimate origin: salary, savings, a property sale, dividends or a pension. We ask for it when the amounts moving through your account are out of step with what we know about you, or when the pattern of deposits suggests funds arriving from somewhere other than your own resources.

A request for source of funds is not an accusation. It is a standard AML control that applies to every licensed operator, and the threshold that triggers it is set in our internal risk policy rather than published, because publishing it would make the control easy to bypass. Typical triggers include deposits that are large relative to your history, frequent deposits of similar amounts in a short window, and withdrawals well above the usual volume for your account.

  • Recent payslips or an employment contract.
  • Bank statements covering the period of the deposits in question.
  • A signed sale contract or completion statement for a property or vehicle sale.
  • Dividend, pension or investment statements bearing your name.
  • Documents must show your name and cover the relevant period. We accept JPG, PNG and PDF files.

How We Monitor Your Transactions

Every deposit and withdrawal on our platform is monitored against your verified profile. Our systems flag transactions that do not match your usual pattern, and a member of the compliance team reviews each flag by hand before any funds are held or released. Deposits are checked for third-party involvement: money must come from an account, card or wallet in your own name, and we return payments that arrive from anyone else.

Withdrawals follow the same-method rule. Where a payment method supports withdrawals, we send your winnings back through that same method up to the amount you deposited with it, and any balance above that goes to a method of your choice from your verified options. Crypto withdrawals in Bitcoin or Tether are processed to the wallet you have verified with us.

We charge no fees of our own on deposits or withdrawals. Where a transaction is flagged for review, we aim to resolve it within 24 hours, and we contact you directly if we need anything from you to close the review.

What Happens If Verification Fails

If your documents do not pass verification, or you do not provide them when we ask, we cannot release your withdrawal. The funds stay in your account balance until the checks are complete. That is the immediate consequence, and it applies from the first failed check.

Where a document is simply unreadable, we ask for a new copy and your account stays fully open in the meantime. Where the problem is substance rather than quality, an ID that does not match your registration details, a payment method in another person's name, or source of funds that cannot be evidenced, we restrict the account: deposits are blocked, gameplay is suspended and the matter goes to our compliance team for decision.

If verification ultimately fails or you refuse to cooperate, we close the account. We return the remaining balance to a verified account or method in your name after deducting any amounts required by law, and we keep the records of the case for the retention period described below. Where the law obliges us, we also report the matter to the authorities in our licence jurisdiction before closure.

How Long We Keep Your Documents

We store your verification documents and transaction records for five years after your account is closed, or five years after the last transaction on an open account, whichever applies. The AML rules of our licence jurisdiction set this minimum, and we follow it without exception.

Retention serves three purposes. It lets us answer lawful requests from the authorities, it supports audits of our own compliance, and it protects you as well as us if a transaction is later disputed. When the retention period ends, we delete the documents securely and permanently, keeping only the minimum records the law requires us to hold. You can request a copy of your stored data at any time by writing to our compliance team.

Frequently asked questions

How long does verification take at Spinado Casino?

Standard document checks are reviewed within 24 hours of upload. Complex cases, including source of funds reviews that need external confirmation, can take up to three business days, and we notify you when that applies.

Do I need to verify my account before I can deposit and play?

No. You can register, deposit and play with basic screening in place. Full verification of your ID, address and payment method takes place before your first withdrawal, or earlier if a risk trigger applies.

Why can I only withdraw using the same method I deposited with?

Our same-method rule is an AML control. It keeps the money trail intact and stops funds from being routed through accounts that never funded the play. Any winnings above the amount you deposited with a method can go to another verified method of your choice.

What happens to my documents after verification?

They are stored on encrypted servers with access limited to compliance staff and kept for five years after your account closes, after which they are securely deleted.
